Andrea D’Ambrosio was born in Frosinone, Italy. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome in 2015. At the same university, he obtained a master’s degree in Space and Astronautical Engineering in 2017. He started his Ph.D. program in Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Space Science at Sapienza University of Rome in 2018. From January to July 2020, and from January to July 2021, he is a visiting researcher at The University of Arizona in Tucson, where he started to collaborate with the SSEL, led by Prof. Roberto Furfaro. Since February 2022, he is a Postdoctoral Associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. His main research fields involve optimal guidance and control, space navigation, dynamics around large and small planetary bodies, satellite formation flying, artificial intelligence, and metaheuristics algorithms.
